the other morning i was out on the property...
i kept hearing "singing in the spring" felt the urge of spring so strong around me... i can see the 'flush/blush" of new color/growth in the willow & red stem dogwood & then there are the little sprouts nudging their way up through the earth... altho there is still a definite chill in the air, we are beginning to warm up here in the inland PNW. i remember as a little girl in western Kansas... when it would start warming up & i was so wanting to go run barefoot outside... i had to wait until after the end of May (the elders restrictions.. & warnings of catching a chill) i just wanted to feel my bare feet upon the earth! i still find myself doing this childhood ritual... i continue watching & waiting for spring to arrive... (actually it goes for all the seasons!) & the words....""singing in the spring"".... well, i am no so much the singer my father was or my sister is... but i do it my own way (when no person is around) & it makes me smile non the less.... i read once about the different tones of the birds tweeting in the morning waking nature... & that they will also awaken the spring stirrings in the plants, trees & green growies... i am in awe so often at how all of nature flows together in harmony.... the nudge of the words "singing in the spring" has me doing a deeper search, kinda like a treasure hunt as to the story that may be there.... in a few days, i will climb my favorite rock to see if the buttercups have bloomed yet, & i have a watchful eye upon the cliffs to see when the daffodils will show their bright shinning faces... the eagle pair was in their nest last night.... they have much repair work ahead of them, as the tree, & nest were both damaged in the strong high powered winds we had. the duck & geese are pairing up along the river... & the turkey groups are strutting their stuff... many of the whitetail bucks have dropped their antlers.. & i was even lucky enough to find a pair dropped within a few feet of each other!!! the coyotes are yipping more... the pups will be born soon,so much activity in the wildlife on the property!! it's all part & parcel of how nature flows.... & i am still a willing student at the feet of nature... so much to see & learn!! & so it is & so it is~~ brightest blessings for a lovely incoming spring warmest loving hugs, earthdeva/molly
