as i share my thoughts today, i am away from my own home space, visiting my sons;(whom i have shared about before).... drier climate & a higher altitude, then my own place... some different plant & animal life resides here, i am fascinated by the difference.
i have been reading a book while visiting... " reclaiming the wild soul" by Mary Reynolds Thompson. interestingly the first chapters are about the desert...dwelling in the desert of our being... the past few mornings i rise early & sit on the patio & listen to the morning wake... watch the birds, wild rabbits, & lizards. & i ponder, the differences, & the similarity... i respect & appreciate all the work my son has done with his own earthspace!!! i recognize the labor evolved in all his efforts! & i am so proud of him & what he has accomplished! i have focused on shade plants on my own earthspace... & there is so little natural shade on his plot of earth. i love the shaded patio he has designed & created, & love to sit & admire & just take it all in at a heart & soul level... my granddaughters have joined me a few mornings & we do "art projects" (art journaling) interestingly yesterday was water, today was ocean....contradicted/humor i sit in the midst of cultivated "deserty" place. always notice how my skin reacts to the dry... so used it is to another environment. i love the contrast!!! loving the little lizards flitting about.... love the cactus blooms, i love the prolific strawberry patch near the patio (i made 2 batches of jam so far & have picked another huge bowl full waiting for a tasty treat.) i love the smell of the sweet sage plants all about!!! i am loving spending time with my son & family!! i am missing my big camera on this adventure though (it had an accident with the sidewalk>>> so sad!!) so making due with the phone camera. sweet sage blessings, earthdeva/molly |
